I believe in public education and hope to one day raise a family in this city. A thriving public education system that empowers our youth is non-negotiable. The historic and continued lack of investment in our public education systems only perpetuates the existing achievement gap burdening the city.

I will continue to support the Opportunity and Achievement Gap Policy and work tirelessly to complete its full implementation, which will propel the district forward. I believe that both public and private entities can work together to ensure that teachers and faculty have the resources and skills they need to educate Boston's younger generations.

Lack of access to strong, affordable education leads to the persistence and even expansion of the pre-existing disparity in achievement and wealth among historically disadvantaged groups. Members of this district should have to look no further than their own neighborhood to provide a great education for their family.
